Survival Techniques

October 28, 2008

Between stirring a simmering pot of homemade mustard barbeque sauce and chopping onions, I read a few pages of the SAS Survival Guide. Knots. Edible fungi. Dead falls. On the phone, I convince my father to apply for Mantracker. It doesn’t take much. In my closet: flint, candles, compass, tarp. And before I sleep, a few pages of The Outlander.

Seen Reading lets me read myself to sleep with tales of escape, mountain survival, rabbit stew.
